On the 19th and 20th of April 2026, Beauty Tech Innovations exhibited at Professional Beauty for the third time. As I sit back and reflect on the weekend, I realise that this year's show wasn't just another beauty industry event—it was an opportunity to look at how far both my business and I have come since exhibiting for the very first time.
Professional Beauty has been a huge part of my journey as a business owner, and while this year's exhibition looked very different from my first, it reminded me that growth isn't always measured by sales alone.
Preparing for Professional Beauty 2026
This year was undoubtedly the most challenging year I have experienced leading up to a hair and beauty show.
Alongside preparing for Professional Beauty 2026, I was also working towards one of the biggest goals I had set for myself when I first started Beauty Tech Innovations: opening my own retail unit.
The weeks leading up to the show were filled with long days, heavy lifting, moving furniture and storage drawers back and forth, organising stock, preparing displays, and trying to balance the demands of running a growing business. On top of that, I experienced significant delays with incoming stock, leaving me with far less inventory than I had originally planned to bring to the exhibition.
As a business owner, you learn quickly that things rarely go exactly to plan. While the stock delays were frustrating, I was determined to make the most of the opportunity and showcase the products I did have available.
From 6 Products to 25 Products
When I exhibited at Professional Beauty for the first time, Beauty Tech Innovations was still in its early stages.
At the time, I had just 6 products available.
This year, I arrived with a range of 25 products, covering everything from professional nail equipment and salon supplies to nail drills, efiles, cordless drills, drill bits, dust collectors, LED lamps, UV lamps, and workspace essentials for nail technicians and beauty therapists.
Looking around my stand this year, I couldn't help but feel proud of what has been built over the last few years. Every product added to the range represents countless hours of research, investment, learning, and belief in the vision I had when I first started the business.
Achieving My Biggest Goal
Opening a retail unit has been one of my biggest goals since day one.
For years, it was something I worked towards while building the business product by product and customer by customer. To now be in a position where that goal has become a reality feels incredibly rewarding.
While preparing for Professional Beauty, I was also preparing to open the doors to our new retail space. Looking back, it's no surprise that I felt overwhelmed at times. Managing both projects simultaneously required a huge amount of energy, focus, and determination.
Despite the challenges, seeing the retail unit come together reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.
Comparing My First Show to My Third
One of the biggest reflections I had after this year's exhibition was how different my experience felt compared to my first Professional Beauty show.
During my first exhibition, everything felt exciting and new. Of course, there were nerves, but there was also a sense of enjoyment and adventure that came with stepping into something I had never done before.
This year felt very different.
With the pressure of opening a retail unit, managing stock issues, and juggling the responsibilities that come with a growing business, I found myself feeling far more mentally exhausted, stressed, and overwhelmed than I had during my first show.
At times, I felt so focused on reaching the next goal and completing the next task that I didn't allow myself to fully enjoy the experience. Looking back now, I realise that I spent much of the weekend thinking about what still needed to be done rather than appreciating what had already been achieved.
While that mindset helped me reach many of my goals, it also took away some of the excitement that I experienced during my first year exhibiting. What once felt purely fun occasionally felt more like another task on an already long to-do list.
However, that reflection has taught me something important. Growth is not only about achieving goals—it's also about taking the time to recognise and celebrate them.
The Success of the SereniLight Nail Lamp
Despite the challenges leading up to the event, there were still plenty of highlights throughout the weekend.
One of the biggest successes was the response to our SereniLight Nail Lamp.
The interest in the lamp exceeded expectations, and it quickly became our standout product of the exhibition. Visitors were drawn to its professional features, sleek design, and practical benefits for nail technicians looking for reliable LED lamp and UV lamp solutions for their salons.
Seeing such a positive response reinforced my belief in continuing to bring innovative, professional-grade products to the beauty industry.
Returning Customers Made the Weekend Special
Although sales did not reach the levels of my first Professional Beauty exhibition, I noticed that the event itself seemed quieter than previous years. The aisles didn't appear quite as busy, and visitor numbers felt lower than they had in the past.
However, one thing that stood out was the incredible number of returning customers who came back to visit us.
Seeing familiar faces walk up to the stand was one of the most rewarding parts of the entire weekend. Many of these customers have supported Beauty Tech Innovations throughout its journey, and knowing they chose to come back and shop with us again meant more than any individual sale.
Customer loyalty is something that cannot be measured by a weekend's revenue, and this year's exhibition reminded me of the value of building genuine relationships with customers over time.
The People Behind the Journey
Perhaps the biggest reflection I had after Professional Beauty 2026 wasn't about products, sales, or business goals at all.
It was about people.
Over the last few years, I've gained a much deeper understanding of who my true supporters are. Building a business can sometimes feel like a lonely journey, but when I look back at everything that has happened—from launching Beauty Tech Innovations to growing from 6 products to 25 products and opening a retail unit—I know I didn't do it alone.
There have been people who have believed in me from the very beginning. People who have supported me, encouraged me, offered advice, helped when things became difficult, and celebrated the wins alongside me.
This journey has made me appreciate those relationships more than ever. It has shown me the importance of surrounding yourself with people who genuinely want to see you succeed.
When I reflect on how much has happened in such a short period of time, I know that many things would not have been as achievable, or happened as quickly, without the support of those people. For that, I will always be grateful.
Looking Ahead
Professional Beauty 2026 gave me something I wasn't expecting: perspective.
It reminded me that success isn't always measured by the number of sales made over a weekend. Sometimes success is found in the goals you've achieved, the lessons you've learned, the customers who return year after year, and the people who continue to support you along the way.
From starting with just 6 products to now offering 25 products. From exhibiting as a small business to opening a retail unit. From introducing new products like the SereniLight Nail Lamp to welcoming returning customers back to our stand.
This year's Professional Beauty show gave me the opportunity to reflect on just how far Beauty Tech Innovations has come.
And while there is still so much more I want to achieve, for the first time in a long time, I am taking a moment to appreciate everything that has already been accomplished.
Thank You
